Fionn - Future
Spooks is a solo exhibition taking place at The McLean Museum and Art Gallery in Greenock as part of The Inverclyde Myths and Legends Festival in November 2007.
This is a collection of my darkest works to date all based around the world of ghosts magicians and other legendary characters. The palette is also dark to add to the atmosphere of the works.
Two of the pieces are being used for the publicity material for the Myths and Legends Festival including a 20 by 10 foot billboard in Greenock.
Fionn was a Scottish/Pictish magician, warrior, poet who almost achieved deity status. He was renowned as a destroyer of giants and other Celtic monsters.
This work appeared on the billboard.

Although this work was originally created for the Myths and Legends Festival it has previously been exhibited at the Watersongs Exhibition.
The character in the piece is a wicker representation of the local legendary warlock Auld Dunrod. A 25 feet wicker sculpture is to be created at workshops by the local community led by the Edinburgh based Puppet Lab. It will be symbolically 'burned' following a parade of mythical characters, lanterns and street performers at the end of the festival.
